Real Stories: How Our Members Enjoy Free Stays Around the World

We ask our members on a regular basis about their opinion and experiences with Swop and Stay. This is what Carola from Casa 21 in Nerja, Spain wrote about their stay at Wind-Rose Guest house in Gordon’s Bay:

“I’ve been a member from Swop and Stay as from the beginning. I started when there were not even a 100 members approximately 8 years ago. We moved out from South Africa back to Europe two years ago. I’m Dutch but we have a house in Spain and we are still a member. I love the concept of Swop and Stay.” 

When we lived in South Afria we were the owners of Wind-Rose Guest House in Gordon’s Bay. Luckily the new owners of Wind-Rose Guest House recently joined Swop and Stay again, so we could book a Swop there.

It was fantastic to be at our “home” the new owners are very nice and they maintain the place very well. They changed the gym into a new apartment and we were allowed to try this. It was really fantastic. Very spacious and beautifully decorated. They even made a very nice balcony with a view at the garden and you can even see a little piece of the ocean. It’s such a tranquil environment. We loved staying here again and catch up with Harry and Manuela. It’s so great to be able to do a Swap at so many beautiful places!

This hidden gem is centrally located in rural area at only 35 minutes from Cape Town airport. Close enough to enjoy everything that Cape Town – the ‘Mother City’ – has to offer but a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of City life.

Hermanus and Stellenbosch are just around the corner on less than an hour drive. Want to see the penguins? Go to Betty’s bay and take the stunning route over Clarence drive. Want to do some wine tasting? Do the four-pass route.

And last but certainly not least. They have the most beautiful sunsets in our Gorgeous Bay. Every day a new painting…..
