An Amazing Stay at Da Capo Guest House in Betty’s Bay with Swop and Stay

My husband and I invited friends Nico and Linzi Niehaus (also Swop and Stay members) to join us for Ernst’s birthday weekend in Betty’s Bay. We booked at Da Capo with Brian and Debi Best in Betty’s Bay.

Their establishment has 4 bedrooms and can accommodate 8 people sharing. We had an absolute amazing time.

Debi, being a professional Saxophone player, surprised my husband by coming down to our unit to serenade for his birthday (see video on Instagram). That was really, really special! We enjoyed a lovely braai in the braai room.

On Saturday we first took a short walk to the beach – what a beautiful and special beach! We then visited the Penguins and took a short drive to the Harold Porter National Botanical Gardens. There is so much to do and to see in the area, would love to return for another visit!

Debi and Brian are excellent hosts and went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable.

Da Capo A self Catering Guest House in the beautiful Kogelberg region

Nestled in the serene Kogelberg region, Da Capo is a charming self-catering guest house offering a peaceful retreat. The house comfortably accommodates up to 8 guests with 3 double bedrooms sharing a bathroom, and a private King ensuite featuring its own entrance, fridge, microwave, kettle, and toaster. Two sleeper couches in the communal area provide additional space.

Guests can enjoy a range of shared facilities, including a braai area, a sparkling pool, a fully equipped kitchen, a dining room, and a cozy lounge – all conveniently located on the ground floor. The owners, Bryan and Debi, reside in a separate apartment upstairs, ensuring privacy while being available if needed. Secure parking is provided, and breakfast is available upon request.

While there is no sea view, the soothing sound of waves crashing on the nearby beach and rocks adds to the coastal charm. Silversands Beach is just a 5-minute walk away – a scenic stroll that’s well worth it.

The surrounding area offers plenty to explore, from excellent local restaurants and a nearby penguin colony to the beautiful Harold Porter Botanical Gardens. Further afield, Gordon’s Bay is 30 km away, the airport is an easy 60-minute drive, and the charming towns of Kleinmond and Hermanus, along with renowned wine farms, are all within reach.
